Writing audit questions can be tricky, especially if you want them to be clear, professional, and actually helpful in the field. That’s where Audit Now’s AI Question Optimizer comes in.

This feature uses AI to automatically improve your checklist questions, making them more effective, easier to understand, and better aligned with response types.

✨ What It Does

The AI Question Optimizer:

  • Rewrites your question for clarity and consistency

  • Suggests improvements to make it more objective and less ambiguous

  • Ensures the question matches the selected response type

  • Adds optional context or clarification in the “Reason” field

  • Helps reduce “pencil whipping” by making questions more purposeful

🛠️ How to Use It

  1. Add or Edit a Question

    • Start typing your question like you normally would.

  2. Click on

    • You'll see a magic wand or AI icon near the question field.

    • Click it and let the AI refine your question instantly.

  3. Review and Accept Suggestions

    • The AI will show a suggested improvement.

    • You can accept it as-is or tweak it further.

  4. (Optional) Optimize Again

    • Want a different variation? Click the AI button again for another suggestion.

💡 Example

Original:

“Check extinguisher”

Optimized:

“Is the fire extinguisher clearly labeled, accessible, and within its inspection date?”

Added Reason:

“Ensure fire safety equipment is usable during emergencies.”

👥 Why It Matters

Clear and precise questions:

  • Improve audit accuracy

  • Motivate field teams by reducing confusion

  • Ensure consistent responses across locations

  • Support better reporting and follow-up actions

🧠 Pro Tip

Use the AI Optimizer especially for:

  • Complex checks (e.g. safety or compliance items)

  • Questions being reused across multiple teams or sites

  • Any question that has been misunderstood in past audits

Smarter questions = smarter audits.
Try optimizing a few key questions in your next checklist and see the difference!
